Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure the highest standards of product quality and process control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and control, with hands-on experience in ISO 9001 and IATF standards. This role involves statistical analysis, process improvement, and customer advocacy to maintain and enhance product quality.
Responsibilities
+ Perform statistical analysis on finished goods to confirm process control using tools such as Power BI.
+ Assist in developing production process controls and recommend process improvements to eliminate rework and poor product quality.
+ Initiate and manage change requests for formula, process, or specification based on quality metrics.
+ Develop methods to eliminate batch adjustments and poor product quality.
+ Initiate Gage R&R studies for the QC Lab and evaluate results.
+ Complete APQP Product Hand Off packets with development staff and attend hand-off meetings and QC training activities.
+ Help maintain the company-wide calibration program.
+ Participate in Product Team meetings discussing product performance and statistical trends.
+ Revise and maintain test procedures and SOPs related to quality and production.
+ Act as a lab liaison between technicians and cover for absent lab techs.
+ Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with any other quality-related tasks.
+ Assist customers with material quality issues in a timely manner and issue Quality Alerts to appropriate departments.
+ Compile requested reports for customers and respond to customer inquiries in a professional manner.
+ Help plan and meet ISO/IATF requirements, participate in internal audits, and assist during customer and surveillance audits.
+ Maintain quality-related performance metrics and promote Customer Requirement Awareness throughout the company.
+ Participate in training activities to become a subject matter expert.
+ Lead yearly inventory activities and maintain inventory control.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science in a STEM field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics).
+ 1+ years of hands-on experience working with ISO 9001 standards; IATF experience is a plus.
+ Strong math skills.
+ Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control tools.
+ Experience with Quality Management Systems and ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Good understanding of product catalog, processes, and customer requirements.
+ Experience with APQP, change control, and other quality initiatives.
Work Environment
The Quality Assurance Specialist will primarily work in an office setting but will also spend time in the lab and collaborate with the production team. The work hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
