Quality Assurance Specialist (Science Industry)

We are immediately hiring for a Quality Assurance Specialist to help support various different aspects of Quality with a large adhesive manufacturer. This is a long-term career opportunity, and we are looking for someone with a Bachelors Degree in a STEM field, and at least 1+ years of hands-on experience working with the quality Standard (ISO 9001) in a similar capacity.
An ideal candidate should have experience both in a QC Laboratory environment and experience with other quality duties including: performing root cause analysis based on customer complaints, performing statistical analysis on batch data and discussing data shifts, and assisting in change control and other quality initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Quality Control
+ Perform statistical analysis on finished goods to confirm process is in control
+ Assist in developing production process controls
+ Recommend process improvements to eliminate rework and poor product quality
+ Determine if material is a candidate for change control process
+ Initiate change requests for formula, process or specification based on Quality metrics
+ Develop methods to eliminate batch adjustments and poor product quality
+ Initiate Gage R&R studies for the QC Lab and evaluate results
+ Complete APQP Product Hand Off packets with development staff
+ Attend hand-off meetings and QC training activities
+ Assist in developing and updating Process Flows, P-FMEA, Control Plans and Test Procedures
+ Assist in building Tech Sheet inputs and QC notes
+ Initiate and help train QC Techs on new Test Procedures
+ Update and documents related to the handoff
+ Help maintain company-wide calibration program
+ Participate in Product Team meetings discussing product performance and statistical trends, as needed
+ Revise and maintain test procedures and SOPs related to quality and production
+ Act as lab liaison between techs and manager
+ Cover for absent lab techs
+ Assist Quality Assurance Manager with any other quality-related tasks
+ Customer advocate
+ Assist customers with material quality issues in a timely manner
+ Issue Quality Alerts to appropriate department and maintain all records of communication related to alert
+ Aid customers and QA Manager in solving customer complaints and concerns
+ Delegate tasks to QC support staff to expedite response time
+ Update the corrective action records
+ Compile requested reports for customers (product quality files, white papers, reports, etc.)
+ Complete customer surveys
+ Respond to customer in professional manner
+ ISO/IATF
+ Help in planning ISO/IATF requirements
+ Participate in internal audit team
+ Participate in corrective action team investigations
+ Assist during customer and surveillance audits
+ Assist in maintaining quality related performance metrics
+ Report and post KPIs monthly
+ Prepare quality KPI’s for monthly Management Review
+ Promote Customer Requirement Awareness throughout NCU
+ Maintain customer requirements and manuals
+ Initiate customer surveys
+ Maintain customer portals
+ Complete customer surveys and document requests
+ Initiate change requests and issue to customers
+ Initiate waivers
+ Review customer scorecards
+ Review/audit CSRs for compliance
+ Perform internal layered process audits (Layer 1)
+ Participate in training activities
+ Actively listen to or take part in training presentation
+ Ask questions of presenter
+ Complete any reviews, tests, or follow-up to training activity
+ Participate in training by outside sources to become subject matter expert
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
