Job Description
The Quality Engineer is responsible for quality assurance activities to ensure production quality standards are met. This position coordinates with Operations, Customers, Suppliers, Sales, other Engineering personnel, Technicians, and Corporate support.
ResponsibilitiesManage the PPAP process, including establishing requirements, gathering documentation, validating the process, and final approval.Develop Control Plans and FMEAs.Interpret data using CPK and CP.Apply knowledge of the IATF16949 technical standard.Establish process controls (Poke yokes, Check frequencies, etc.).Perform layered audits and internal process audits.Collaborate with Automotive OEMs in-person, on phone, and via email.Understand blueprint tolerances.Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and general hand gauges.Operate CMM, Faro arm, or other programmable measurement devices.Organize data to recommend actions to management.Implement formal problem-solving techniques (5P / 8D or equivalent).Supervise a team of 4+ associates across 3 shifts.Work with the production team on continual improvement activities related to cost reduction.Essential Skills3-5 years of experience in manufacturing with strong familiarity with automotive quality.Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Motivated, self-starter with the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Some measurement tool usage (calipers, micrometers, and hand gauges).Machining and/or aluminum products experience.Ford experience.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.66 - $40.87/hr.
