Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician will play a vital role in supporting the Quality team across various departments within a small company environment. This position requires handling quality documentation such as Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), updating reports, and maintaining quality customer files in support of quality engineers. The technician will inspect electronic assemblies to identify defects that do not meet IPC standards within a lab setting. Additionally, they will manage requirements and paperwork for materials received from suppliers. Familiarity with Space or NASA requirements is beneficial, as the role includes supporting the storage of materials.
ResponsibilitiesReview materials, parts procurement, and processes for compliance with PA/QA and technical standards.Generate product and quality assurance documentation in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and team members.Maintain quality control data and records collected during PA/QA activities.Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Requests for Deviation (RFDs), and Requests for Waiver (RFWs), and perform any needed root cause or corrective actions.Define, witness, and verify QA project requirements.Interface with customer Product Assurance (PA) and QA representatives.Perform inspections and witness manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing activities; provide feedback as needed.Essential SkillsIPC J-STD-001 Certifications or direct experience with quality standards for electronics.Identifying defects in electronics, electronic assembly, soldered parts, PC Boards, cables, wires, harnesses.Quality engineering, quality documentation, quality requirements knowledge for space, aerospace, defense programs or projects.Experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions.5+ years of experience in quality assurance, including NCRs, quality requirements, quality documentation and reports, and inspection.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with electronics components within electronic assembly (PC Boards, soldered parts, cables, wires, harnesses) - preferably for space flight.Direct experience or certifications with IPC standards (IPC J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.6, IPC-7711 / 7722).Preferred certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.6, IPC-7711 / 7722.Experience in space or defense or other regulated environments is preferred.Work Environment
50% of the time will be spent in a lab environment. The company is experiencing an exciting growth transition, providing opportunities for career advancement. The technician will have hands-on quality experiences with both software and hardware and will be able to support other departments as needed, including Technicians, Manufacturing, Test, Administrative, and Engineering. The products are used in multiple programs, including defense and space initiatives such as Artemis and Gateway.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $39.00/hr.
