Job Title: Quality Lab Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Lab Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. You will initially undergo training on the 1st shift for a few weeks, with an 8 am start time. Flexibility to cover different shifts is required, and occasional weekend work may be necessary. This position is a 6-month contract with potential for a permanent role based on performance.

ResponsibilitiesPerform wet chemistry lab analysis on raw materials, in-process, and finished products, including pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and physical properties testing.Conduct micro testing and swabbing.Inspect all incoming raw materials, including chemicals, bottles, and labels.Perform line audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements.Document findings and report them using Microsoft Excel and other data management systems.Communicate daily updates to the Lab Manager and Quality Director.Collaborate with the corporate team in San Francisco to address issues.Prepare shift change notes and document testing and quality metrics.Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and organization.Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and communicate needs to the QA manager.Initiate QA variance documentation and compile data into presentational formats.Work closely with the quality specialist and QA manager, and act as backup to the quality lab manager as needed.Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Applied Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry)1 year of experience in a quality lab positionExperience with wet chemistry (pH meter), quality control, and quality assuranceProficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelAbility to adapt to change and work independentlyAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in microbiology and biologyOutgoing personality and willingness to ask questions and help out in the facilityIdeal candidates have a BS degree and quality experience, but new grads with strong lab experience will also be consideredWork Environment

The work environment is a platinum manufacturing facility, one of only two in the US, committed to sustainability with no waste returned to the environment. The building features a 75,000 sq. ft. rooftop garden, windmill, and solar panel trees, providing about 40% of the plant's electricity. The position involves working primarily in the lab, with some time spent on the floor for sample collection and documentation. The role requires a flexible schedule, including 2nd shift hours from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work as communicated by management.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
