Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Specialist to join our multi-national Manufacturing Site for the Philadelphia cream cheese. As the Quality Specialist – Production, you will work closely with the Quality Manager, Operations, and other key stakeholders to provide hands-on technical support and coaching in core quality areas such as HACCP, weight control, extraneous matter management, and verification of Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Site Prerequisite Programs (SPPs). This ensures food safety and product integrity are maintained at every step of the manufacturing process.
As Second-in-Command (2IC) to the Quality Manager, this role is expected to provide leadership coverage when the Quality Manager is unavailable. This includes demonstrating leadership, guiding the Quality team, and supporting site decision-making to ensure business continuity.
How you will contribute (but not limited to):
Supporting the execution and ongoing maintenance of Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory programs at the Suttontown site to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality products that meet customer, regulatory, and company standards.Ensuring compliance to site Quality and Food Safety programs through the day-to-day implementation, verification, and continuous improvement of operational controls on the production floor. This includes monitoring adherence to company policies, external standards, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.Accountable for training to ensure operational teams understand and apply quality and food safety requirements consistently. This includes delivering onboarding, refresher, and targeted training sessions to build site capability and compliance.Supporting team capability and operational resilience by promoting cross-training across Quality Support, Chemistry, and Microbiology roles. This includes helping to balance workloads and build a multi-skilled team that can flex to cover critical tasks when needed.Supports the site’s external audit readiness and regulatory compliance, including liaising with governing bodies such as Dairy Safe SA, the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), and other relevant certification bodies. The role ensures all required controls, records, and verifications are consistently applied, maintained, and audit ready.Build stronger partnerships with the Manufacturing team, working closely together to embed a shared ownership of quality across all operational areas. This partnership approach supports the site’s continuous improvement and operational excellence goals.What you will bring:

Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a food/dairy manufacturing environment with relevant experience in Quality/Operations.Proven experience in HACCP, EM management, weight control, and hold & release processes within a production environment.Familiarity with manufacturing site hygiene, GMP, and quality systems such as SAP ION and IQS (preferred).Strong knowledge and understanding of quality and food safety systems, including HACCP, CCPs, SPPs, and food safety legislation.Sound knowledge of Extraneous Matter (EM) management, weight control systems, and hold and release processes.Understanding of audit, verification, and traceability requirements.Awareness of customer standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Competency in conducting verifications, audits, and quality checks.Ability to deliver training and coach others on quality processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).HACCP certification (or willingness to obtain).More about this role
