The Quality Assurance Sr Manager role is responsible for oversight of quality related activities at the division level, ensuring alignment with GPI quality policies and objectives. He/she oversees plant-level quality activities including facility conformance to quality standards; conformance to customer requirements; and, conformance to multiple third-party certifications. He/she will drive to standardize quality processes across the division. 

 

Job Functions: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

 

Oversight of customer complaints and corrective actions.  He/she will own the root cause analysis, alongwith the plant, and define our sustainable corrective action plan;  develop and implement a severity measure Standardize A3 and or Kepner-Tregoe in our problem solving processes Advocate for automation and system implementation to improve tracking and proactive abilities Drive standardization across the network.  Develop and scale the standard, monitor/audit plants to ensure compliance; visit the plants and audit the process and managers on the floor Build and maintain strong customer relationships, effectively and expeditiously responding to needs and concerns; Initiate customer visits to proactively align on fitness for use opportunities and execution Communicate quality concerns and coordinate the resolution of high profile quality issues by partnering with plant operations. Provide QA system related problem solving, process improvement and analytical support to plant operations, on an as needed basis. Serve as our internal advocate to improve quality from our internal mills and external suppliers Provide leadership to the plants in the preparation and execution of all internal and external Quality Systems audits (including ASI, Steritech, YUM, GFSI, HAVI, Chain of Custody (COC) and any other audits mandated by our customers), supporting successful completion of audits and tracking corrective actions from post-audit reports. Ensure Food Safety, Food Defense, and systems are established to meet all sanitation audit requirements; ensure readiness of the plants at all times for audit; and track corrective actions from post-audit reports. Ensure quality management team and quality personnel have received and understand the training provide to do their work.

Key Requirements

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various manufacturing and staff departments at the plant, and with groups outside the plant, (other plants’ personnel, division Quality, vendors)

Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including train, coach, mentor, counsel, and discipline, through dotted line reporting Strong strategic, analytical problem-solving ability (TCC/Trouble Cause Correction) Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S or other discipline) Must be able to utilize time management & multi-tasking skills to keep up with the demands of coordinating all the Quality Systems and Audit activities. Strong computer skills with a focus on Microsoft office applications, Minitab statistical software, QAD experience (preferred) Ability to work independently as well as the ability to coordinate activities with different departments Strong safety orientation as per job requirements

Background/Experience:

5-7 years of supervisory experience working in Operations, preferably in a production and/or quality function. Experience with Food Safety Standards, HACCP and audit processes.

Education / Knowledge:

Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Quality Systems, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred; or, closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.

Physical Demands:

Sitting, walking or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office equipment, hand and electrical tools or equipment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas (Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection, Hair & Beard Netting).

 

 

Pay Range:   $120,825.00 - $161,100.00
