To aid the management and lead the Quality Assurance program development of the Food Safety and Quality programs, including BRC/GFSI, GMPs, HACCP, and SOPs. The incumbent will be responsible for technician training, technical coverage, recommend procedure improvements, provide guidance in sanitation and manage specifications improvement projects. Responsible for initiation and management of policies and programs associated with the Quality Assurance program for raw materials, intermediate product components, packaging supplies, and finished products.

Responsibilities:Responsible for overseeing the overall quality of products manufactured and ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory specifications.Updating and maintaining Quality Assurance specifications and procedural manuals required for 3rd party audits. (i.e.. BRC/GFSI, Organic, Gluten Free, Kosher and Customer Audits).Facilitate QA Training of production personnel in GMPs and new and existing procedures.Responsible for maintaining the Positive Release program and QA Hold log in to the SAP system.Assist with the plant environmental testing program.Experience and understanding of Food Safety and Quality in order to manage the Analytical testing programs, review lab results and release products.Oversee Line Conformance and test products at specified stages in the production process.Key contributors in leading teams for BRC/GFSI and 3rd party audit programs.Basic food technology skills with relationship between ingredients and processes.Responsible for verifying formulations and associated documentation.Lead the process of investigating quality issues with the input of all departments.Drive the resolution of customer / consumer complaints and foreign material investigations.Perform plant GMP audits of all areas of the plant.Perform finished goods audits.Oversee compliance of color-code utensils and container policy in all plant production areas.Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, ingredients, quality or food safety system.Report ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or any process deviations and help control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.Will follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirementsWill support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the BRC and TMOS Systems.Knowledge of all facets of quality programs to substitute for QA Supervisor in Supervisor’s absence and assume necessary operational and administrative duties.All other duties as assigned.Supervision:QA ManagerQualifications/Education/Experience/SkillsHigh School diplomaAA or BS in Biology, Chemistry or Food Science a preferredOne year of experience in a quality related fieldOne year experience in a manufacturing work environmentHACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) certification preferredBPCS (Better process Control School) certification preferredMust be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPointMust be able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills.Must know and understand all allergens processed through relative equipment.Physical Demands:
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
