Receptionist I

**Responsibilities**
This job is responsible for serving as the receptionist for the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) Executive Offices or an assigned hospital and for providing related general office/administrative support activities for executive management. Job duties are of moderate scope and complexity and are performed within established procedures. An incumbent is engaged in extensive and varied public contact, calling for strong customer service skills. Work requires adaptation to various situations, good communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
**Qualifications**
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
One year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities. Executive office work experience is preferred.
Job Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of modern office principles, practices, systems and equipment.
Knowledge of the operation and care of standard office equipment that may include computers, copiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, established procedures relating to the assigned hospital, including room set up and catering services.
Ability to understand and apply oral and written instructions/guidelines to produce a desired result.
Ability to provide effective customer service in a manner reflective of the image of the assigned hospital executive offices.
Ability to express ideas and convey information effectively in verbal communications.
Ability to interact with a variety of customers in a professional way.
Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to use office equipment and automated systems/applications/software at an acceptable level.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
Skill in operating a multi-line phone system and responding courteously and professionally at all times.
Skill in responding to difficult questions and maintaining confidentiality of information.

**Pay Range**
$16.66 - $22.42 /hour
