REMOTE Sr. IT Governance Specialist (Purview)
Job Description An employer is looking for a Sr. IT Governance Specialist for a remote, contract opportunity with likely extensions. The client is a large financial organization and this individual will be assisting with Information Protection policy building, monitoring, and reporting in Microsoft Purview. The role will consult on enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture. Key Responsibilities:  Drive results that reduce risks through execution of the program, which includes effectively communicating metrics, reporting, and results of Information Protection policies within Microsoft Purview.  Must provide input on data loss prevention polices and best practices, showing how they affect the LOBs strategy and pending initiatives.  Responsible for Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention, Data Security Posture Management and Sensitivity Labels  Required to partner with all Bank lines of business  Provide assistance to Bank users with questions related to Microsoft Purview security implementation  Have proven experience in defining a data governance operating model, communicating the model and implementing it at the Enterprise business unit level in an organization  Have hands-on experience in implementing data dictionaries, business glossaries, data lineage, data service agreements and data quality metrics  Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship  Help identify new business opportunities pertaining to the use of information assets for existing clients and prospective We are a company committed to creating inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements 4+ years of experience in related discipline (Data Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.) Hands-on Microsoft Purview proficiency: experience doing configurations, building policies, pulling audit log and metric information, and monitoring within Microsoft Purview solutions such as Data Loss Prevention, Data Classification, and Insider Risk Management Experience in implementing data loss prevention, data security posture management or MS Purview at Enterprise scale Experience managing Proofpoint email or Zscaler Strong communicator / able to work effectively with Business unit and cross-functional partners Microsoft Purview eDiscovery or Insider Risk Management knowledge Experience working in a Financial Institution or other heavily regulated industry with a concentration on risk reduction Understanding of data retention best practices and application destruction methods Background and knowledge in data lifecycle management/information compliance, centered around unstructured data and physical record retention and destruction best practices.
