Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. 

As a Respiratory Therapy Education Program Coordinator, you will manage the essential development of Respiratory Therapy personnel, ensuring they are ready and informed to provide exceptional care. You will focus on ongoing curriculum enhancement and coordination of all educational activities, including program offerings, practice experiences and high school shadowing. As needed, you will assume the duties of a Respiratory Therapist, allowing you to continue serving your community while teaching the next generation of specialists. This position also opens the door to a world of opportunities at Cleveland Clinic, such as advanced career paths, committee involvement and more. 

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

Manage the professional staff development of Respiratory Therapy personnel and prepare them to provide a high level of Respiratory care for patients. Develop and implement programming that will enhance and upgrade the cognitive and technical skills of all Respiratory Therapists and enable them to function in a clinical role. Develop curriculum for enterprise-wide integration activities, including standardizing orientation and on-boarding for new Respiratory Therapists.  Facilitate State of Ohio continuing education for Respiratory Therapists, including maintaining records for Continuing Education Programs, administering programs and communicating availability of programs within and outside the institution. Manage the Department of Respiratory Therapy Internship program, high school shadowing and senior project programs. Manage affiliation contracts and activities of Respiratory Therapy students from area colleges of Respiratory Therapy, including introductory and advanced Respiratory Therapy practice experiences for all CCHS Hospitals. Represent the Department of Respiratory Therapy on the Allied Health Education Council and other appropriate committees as directed by the Director of Respiratory Therapy. Perform duties of the Respiratory Therapist positions, as needed. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy Current registration as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care Current licensure through the Florida Respiratory Care Board  Two years of recent adult respiratory therapy experience, including Clinical Respiratory Care as a Preceptor or BCLS/ACLS Instructor Demonstrated clinical expertise Demonstrated knowledge of education methodology, such as needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and principles of adult learning 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Master's Degree in Public Health, Education or Business

Physical Requirements:

Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment.Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
