What does a Retoucher do at Hogarth?
We are looking for a Retoucher to join our team. The role involves creating and producing images from the initial ideation stages through to final delivery of high-resolution files. As a senior team member, a strong understanding of image retouching techniques and procedures is required, along with the ability to actively participate in both the creative and technical aspects of each project.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the creative team, project producers, and clients to ensure the delivery of high-quality images within established timelines and budgets. Ensure the visual and technical quality of projects while effectively managing time under tight deadlines. Provide technical and creative solutions at all stages of a project. Organize and manage image files, ensuring proper naming conventions and storage for easy retrieval and usage. Mentor junior retouchers by providing guidance on techniques, tools, and best practices. Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards at all times. Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in retouching software and techniques.
Technical Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of retouching experience in an agency or studio environment. In-depth knowledge of retouching techniques in Adobe Photoshop and proficiency with all common RAW file processing software. Ability to manipulate existing images and composite from multiple sources with a high technical standard and deep understanding of lighting, scale, perspective, sharpness, realism, color balance, and grain structure. Knowledge of file formats, color profiles, and output requirements for various media. Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Camera Raw or Lightroom, and Acrobat. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). A strong portfolio showcasing a wide variety of retouching projects and an exceptional eye for detail. Great interest in and ability to learn and apply new techniques and knowledge. Passion for photography, visual effects, cinema, and CGI production.
Desirable Skills or Experience:
Experience with upscaling, noise reduction, and detail recovery using Topaz Photo AI. Experience in 3D modeling and rendering.
Language Requirements:
Fluent in both Spanish and English.
