Come join us! **Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + Demonstrated ability to work with a team in carrying out civil inspection duties, including the management of other inspectors. + Strong experience in reading and interpreting plans and specifications. + Experience with Caltrans specifications for roadway and structure construction + Experience with ASTM, ACI, and Caltrans test methods + Excellent Communication skills + Writing daily reports including photos + Performing oversight of Contractors for design-build work including verifying activities of Contractor quality control personnel, and performing verifications checks using tape measures, surveying equipment, smart level, computer/ipad, database entry of reports, and other means as needed. **Minimum requirements:** + Minimum 10 years experience with Civil Inspection + Minimum 5 years experience on Caltrans projects or in Caltrans ROW using Caltrans specifications + Ability to write clear, concise daily reports + Understanding of surveying concepts, ability to check grades, slopes, and elevations from a known survey point to verify the work was done to specifications. + Understanding of Caltrans test methods and ASTM testing for asphalt, concrete, soils **Technical requirements:** + ACI concrete field testing technician desired but not required. **Other miscellaneous qualities:** + For this target position, must be willing to live near or travel to the jobsite (alignment from Inland Empire (S. California) to Las Vegas. + Other potential future positions are in the LA or San Diego area as well. **Compensation:** $79 - $80 hourly The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law.
