Element have an opportuity for a Safety Officer. In this role, you will be developing knowledge of and be trained in Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE). The position will focus time on multiple responsibilities between a primary function along with the SHE support function and will report directly to the location General Manager.
This role is site-based in Singapore.
Responsibilities Act as safety resource to lab team members ,establishing and implementing the Safety Health and Environmental company program ensuring regulatory complianceCoordinate Safety Health and Environmental audits, inspections , evaluations and related documentationFormulate and conduct safety training sessions/demonstrations and promote employee participation in the Safety Health and Environmental program(s) while leading the facility safety committee teamAssist in major incident investigations and appropriate documentation,exhibiting operational knowledge of pertinent safety standardsEnsure all SHE equipment is part of operational maintenance plans, ordered, available, distributed, inspected (as required), and replaced when necessary (PPE, fire extinguishers, AEDs, safety showers, etc.)Utilize the SHE Incident Mgt System to effectively manage local training, audits, meeting minutes, assigned actions and SHE events Skills / Qualifications Strong understanding of governmental safety and health regulations/legislationMinimum experience level: 1-2 years experience in a safety support role and/or leadership position with interest and/or experience in organization development and working in a challenging settingAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions, data and details furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formMust be able to complete and understand local Safety, Health and Environmental trainingThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
