Safety Engineer
Job Title: Safety EngineerJob Description The Manufacturing Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting safety within the plant. This role involves reviewing safety programs for Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), risk assessments, and Electrical Safety. The coordinator will spend significant time in the production areas to ensure compliance with safety programs. Responsibilities include writing new procedures, assessing compliance, and performing risk assessments. Essential Skills + Risk assessment and compliance expertise. + Knowledge of electrical safety and plant safety. + Experience in manufacturing process improvement. + Ability to conduct safety training and project management. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 2+ years of experience in safety within a manufacturing environment. + Bachelor's Degree, preferably in engineering. + Project management experience. Work Environment The position is located in Columbus, NE, approximately 40 minutes from Fremont, NE, and 1 hour from Elkhorn, NE. The facility is a clean and highly automated medical device manufacturing plant. It features well-lit areas and has undergone several expansions since its origins in the 1960s. The office space is modern, with updated conference rooms equipped with the latest collaboration technology. Individual cubicles are available for employees. The dress code is casual—polo shirts and jeans with tennis shoes are acceptable. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided before entering the factory floor. The facility operates from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
