The savory cook I contributes to Starbucks success by organizing and executing food preparation in large quantities. Assists Head Savory Chef in food production for all food locations, catering events, and other functions. Candidate will assist with food production tasks as needed, and ensures that quality and cost standards are consistently attained.

 

As a savory cook , using past culinary experience, the candidate will:

 Prepare a wide variety of savory products, soups and sauces according to prescribed recipes. Assist with inventories, pricing, cost controls, requisitioning, and issuing supplies and equipment for food production. Assist with sanitation and safety, menu planning, and related production activities. Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment. Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen, its equipment, and other areas as appropriate. Consistently maintain standards of quality, cost, presentation, and flavor of foods. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Provide training and coaching for staff as needed 

Summary of Experience 

Food Service and Production Experience - 2 years Soup, sauce, and savory prep cook experience Large-batch production experience including use of commercial kitchen equipment Local Health Code and Safety Certifications
