Job DescriptionThe Sawyer is responsible for clearing complex trails at varying grades while felling trees with accuracy to protect on-mountain assets. The Sawyer will be part and take the lead of the build of wood features for the Trails Department. This position reports to the Trails Manager.

Fell trees accurately to avoid lifts, buildings, power lines, etc.Fell trees in challenging conditions such as steep, rocky, slick, tangled, snow covered mountain terrainEvaluate risks in felling conditions, review applicable Job Hazard Analysis and complete Felling Complexity Analysis.Fell, limb and buck timber safely in jack straw or technical conditionsPerform basic maintenance on equipmentAttend annual chain saw safety trainingAttend fire prevention trainingResponsible for the Chainsaw/Brush Saw Equipment of the Department.QualificationsEducation & Experience Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or olderValid, current unrestricted Driver’s License requiredHigh school degree or equivalent preferred3 years of saw experience with demonstrated felling abilityKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
