Security Manager
Position Overview The Millennia Companies is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Building Security Manager at Key Tower in downtown Cleveland. The Security Manager will oversee the Security department's operations, ensuring the safety of tenants, employees, clients, and guests. This role involves supervising and training employees, managing operations, and protecting assets. Essential Functions and Responsibilities + Assist the Director of Security with the overall supervision of the Security and Lobby Attendant team. + Conduct shift changes, ensuring that the Security Team is informed of events and duties. + Coordinate security activities and information sharing among team members. + Train new employees on their assignments and general security expectations. + Ensure the safety and security of the building and its occupants. + Perform and assign routine perimeter checks of the facility. + Identify potential hazards and inform appropriate staff. + Write and review daily logs and reports. + Investigate, document, and report accidents and incidents. + Respond to emergency situations as required. + Monitor team activities at assigned posts and verify reporting accuracy. + Provide ongoing training to team members and document training activities. + Oversee employee scheduling to ensure adequate security coverage. + Monitor employee attendance and address related concerns; submit necessary documentation to HR. + Manage access control and fire/life safety systems. + Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experiences: + High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s or advanced degree strongly preferred. + 1-2 years' experience in security. + 4 years of security supervisory or similar management experience preferred. + Experience in a cross-functional team environment with 24/7 coverage required. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Outstanding interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service. + Ability to maintain confidentiality. + Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Experience with scheduling a 24/7 security department with multiple posts per shift. + Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. + OPOTA Certification beneficial but not required. Expected Hours of Work & Travel + Days and work hours are generally Monday through Friday but may require evening and/or weekend shifts. + Travel may be required with personal vehicle and reimbursed as necessary. + Shifts may change depending on the needs of the business.
