Kforce has a client that is seeking a Security Support Specialist I in Austin, TX. The candidate identifies, investigates, and remediates security events to ensure enterprise integrity against cyber risk. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Evaluates and recommends new security technologies * Develops defense strategies to harden network and desktop infrastructure against known and unknown risks * Monitors and responds to multiple dashboards and consoles for internal security solutions, web filtering, DNS/IP blocking, and Next-Gen firewall security configurations * Collaborates effectively with other teams to ensure best practice security protocols are being implemented * Analyzes logs and audit trails to identify suspicious activity, vulnerabilities, and potential security breaches * Stays informed about the latest cyber threats and vulnerabilities * Responds to security alerts, investigates potential incidents, and escalates issues as needed * Follows established procedures to mitigate and contain security incidents, minimizing damage * In some cases, participates in digital forensics investigations to understand the scope and cause of an incident * Identifies vulnerabilities in systems and networks and recommends solutions to mitigate risks * Evaluates the effectiveness of security controls and provides recommendations for improvement * Works with other team members and potentially other departments to address security issues * Documents security incidents, findings, and recommendations * Communicates security findings and recommendations * Contributes to the development and implementation of security policies and procedures * Collaborates with third-party vendors on security matters
