Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Consultant to help one our clients as they are preparing for a busy second half of the year. This hybrid role, based in Salinas, California, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing finance team in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will excel in managing fixed assets, overseeing month-end close processes, and preparing detailed journal entries.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Perform month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, analysis of financial statements, and resolution of discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries for both routine and complex transactions, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting standards.
• Calculate and adjust accruals and deferrals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits by providing required documentation and expert insights.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within the accounting team.
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies while handling financial records.
• Generate detailed reports and analyses to support decision-making and financial planning.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, with expertise in fixed assets and month-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles and practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas, as well as experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
