Kforce has a client in Silver Spring, MD that is seeking a Senior Accountant. Responsibilities: * Assist with annual audit preparation by compiling schedules and supporting documentation * The Senior Accountant will support external auditors by providing requested information and explanations * Review and prepare account reconciliations and related analyses * Conduct financial research and respond to internal requests for performance data * Contribute to special projects and provide analytical support to accounting leadership * Analyze data to measure performance against goals and provide actionable insights * Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports to support strategic decision-making * As a Senior Accountant, you will stay current with accounting standards and provide guidance as needed * Prepare technical accounting documentation and communicate relevant changes to management * Review and prepare general ledger entries for business activities * Assist with month-end close activities and ensure timely financial reporting * Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data * Collaborate with various departments to provide meaningful financial insights * Support continuous improvement efforts in financial processes and reporting * Identify opportunities to streamline operations and support implementation efforts * Provide coverage for key tasks as needed, including during month-end close * The Senior Accountant will coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely information sharing * Support the preparation of recurring financial reporting packages across departments
