Role description:
We are seeking a Senior BMS/EPMS Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for mission-critical projects. This role will focus on developing real-time building automation and power monitoring, system integration, data analytics, and advanced reporting solutions for data centers and high-reliability infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with power monitoring software, SCADA integration, communication protocols, and power system analysis.
The primary focus of this role is to provide technical design and engineering work before and during the implementation of customer projects.
Role accountabilities:
Design and implement BMS/EPMS for mission-critical facilities, ensuring high reliability and performance. Develop real-time monitoring and analytics solutions to track power usage, energy efficiency, and system reliability. Configure and integrate EPMS with SCADA, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Electrical Infrastructure for seamless operation. Program and troubleshoot BMS/EPMS software and hardware components, including power meters, gateways, and data acquisition devices. Define network architecture for BMS/EPMS, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers, IT teams, and commissioning specialists to ensure BMS/EPMS functionality aligns with project requirements. Develop custom dashboards, alarms, and reporting tools to enhance operational visibility. Manage vendor relationships and oversee system deployment, commissioning, and validation. Provide technical support and training to end users on BMS/EPMS operation and maintenance. Stay current with emerging technologies in building automation and power monitoring, IoT, and AI-driven analytics to enhance system capabilities.Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in BMS, EPMS, IoT, SCADA and other intelligent building systems service or integration with at least 5 years in mission-critical environments (data centers, advanced manufacturing, etc.). Experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems application specific controllers, software and networks. Experience in configuring, programming and troubleshooting Trend, Niagara N4, Distech, Schneider, Ignition Expertise in BMS and EPMS software platforms (Inductive Automation, Schneider Electric Power Monitoring Expert, Eaton Foreseer, Siemens EPMS, etc.) A champion of organization and details, who thrives on providing the highest quality of work. Deadline driven, self-motivated, and with a high degree of technical curiosity and savvy. Able to follow processes and drive consistency with the team. Work with a team and independently as required. Flexible and creative when faced with technical challenges, schedule changes, and conflicting priorities.
