Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Execute targeted communications plans based on the overarching communications strategy to promote the various vision, purpose, values, and strategic initiatives of the company. Develop and implement people-focused content to create a shared understanding of the company’s direction and underscore each employees’ value in building the company.
Write, edit, and proofread different types of communications for various audiences.
Prepare content for various communications channels, including Intranet and app communications, printed publications, executive meetings and events, videos, announcements, etc. Use creative abilities and resources to organize information into charts and graphics to better communicate the message. Work with graphic designers to build illustrations for various projects. Work with videographer to develop videos to better tell the company’s story.
Communicate and provide recommendations regarding progress, needs, and updates to Manager, Employee Communications.
Execute technical administration of employee communications platforms, potentially including intranet, employee app, email newsletters, employee meetings/town halls, digital signage, social and other channels.
Assist with the internal communications integration for acquisitions and works with other Marketing and Communications Managers to brand and publicize the acquisition.
Build relationships with employee-owners throughout the organization to source compelling employee stories that demonstrate the company purpose. Serve as a strategic advisor to effectively present ideas and facilitate discussion about communications plans.
Exercise good project management skills. Manage multiple deadlines and priorities under short timeframes and quick turnaround times. Manage several projects at once with attention to detail and follow-through with all stakeholders.
Support C-level with presentations, articles, and other communications to employees.
Understand all aspects of the employee journey and create appropriate communications for each touchpoint, from brand-based recruiting and integration of acquisitions to brand advocacy.
Conduct research about industry trends and recommend innovative communications tools and approaches.
Maintain quality standards and practices on all projects.
Ensure that Terracon’s brand standards are followed in all communications materials.
Demonstrate business acumen – knowledge of the company’s people, operations, finances, culture, competitive advantages, etc.
Follow safety rules and guidelines. Participate in pre-task planning for all projects. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field and a minimum of six years’ related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years’ experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Position reports to the Manager of Employee Communications through Terracon's corporate office in Olathe, Kansas. The candidate could work from the corporate office or hybrid from a Terracon location.
