Syensqo has established a dedicated startup team, Syensqo.ai, focused on the AI and Generative AI domain. By joining as an AI Scientist, you will be part of this innovative team from its inception. As an AI Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, and deployment of AI models and solutions that align with Syensqo’s strategic objectives, ensuring rigor in experimentation, documentation, and ethics. The Senior AI Scientist for Syensqo.ai will collaborate on the planning, execution, and delivery of AI research and proof-of-values, ensuring they meet business requirements and are developed with high quality and reproducibility. This position is integral to our digital transformation journey, contributing to model development, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration to drive AI adoption across Syensqo. The position reports to the Data Science Lead. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of advanced AI and generative AI solutions (including large language models and agent-based systems) for the Syensqo.ai platform; • Architect and drive MLOps workflows (CI/CD for models, monitoring, versioning, feature stores, automated retraining, rollback strategies) on Azure; • Serve as a technical authority on Azure AI services, including ML Studio, Azure DevOps, AI Foundry, Fabrics, and data integration; • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, product, IT) to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI solutions aligned with business objectives; • Promote and embed responsible AI and ethics throughout the lifecycle of all AI initiatives; • Mentor and upskill junior team members, sharing best practices and fostering an environment of continuous learning; • Evangelize generative AI adoption across the company through technical workshops, internal publications, and stakeholder engagement; • Maintain awareness of latest AI trends, tools, and research, and integrate relevant advances into the team’s capabilities; • (Optional, valued) Lead or support AI initiatives involving chemistry, materials science, and cheminformatics datasets and applications. **Education and experience:** Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Background in Chemistry or Cheminformatics is a plus. Experience: • Good experience in AI/Data Science, including hands-on experience with end-to-end AI solution development in production environments; • Demonstrated experience architecting and scaling MLOps solutions, particularly on Microsoft Azure; • Proven track record with generative AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers, LlamaIndex); • Experience building and managing RAG pipelines and productionizing large language models; • Open-source contributions and/or peer-reviewed publications are a strong plus. Technical Knowledge: • Deep expertise in Python and major AI/ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow); • Mastery of Azure AI and data services: ML Studio, DevOps, Data Factory, AI Foundry, Fabrics, etc. • Strong MLOps knowledge: CI/CD, model monitoring, feature stores, DVC, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); • Proficient with data engineering: SQL/NoSQL, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, cloud data integration; • Familiarity with chemistry and cheminformatics datasets/tools is a plus.
