What this job involves:

Strategic Innovation and Direction

Provide strategic direction for energy modelling practices across the global teamIdentify and capitalize on emerging trends in energy modelling and building performance simulationCollaborate with other JLL services to integrate energy modelling into broader sustainability solutionsBuild tools and methodologies to increase energy modeling efficiency

Project Delivery

Provide high-level oversight on complex energy modelling projects across various scalesEnsure consistent delivery of high-quality energy modelling services globallyResolve technical challenges and manage key stakeholder relationshipsExperience with parametric analysis is mandatory

Tool Development

Lead the design and development of a proprietary energy modelling toolIntegrate OpenStudio and EnergyPlus capabilities into the toolEnsure the tool's scalability from small to large-scale energy models

Technical Expertise

Guide the team in utilizing OpenStudio and EnergyPlus effectivelyOversee the implementation of advanced features such as parametric analysis, optimization, and uncertainty quantificationEnsure best practices in software development, version control, and data management

Team Management and Development

Collaborate with a diverse team of energy modelers and software developers at all experience levelsImplement training programs and mentorship for junior analysts in modelling and codingFoster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous learning within the teamDevelop strategies for team growth, talent acquisition, and long-term professional development

Requirements:

5-10 years experience in building energy modelling and software developmentAdvanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or related fieldExtensive experience with OpenStudio and EnergyPlus, including: 5+ years working with OpenStudio SDK 5+ years developing custom measures and workflows3+ years experience with OpenStudio server for large-scale simulationsExcellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Deep understanding of building physics and energy systems

Preferred

Strong programming skills with: 5+ years experience in Python 3+ years experience in Ruby 3+ years experience in C++Proven track record in developing and leading large-scale energy modelling projectsExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development platforms (e.g., GitHub)Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniquesExperience with cloud computing platforms for distributed simulationsRelevant certifications such as LEED AP, BEMP, or other related credentials
