In the role of Senior Federal Project Accountant, we'll count on you to: Provide accounting support to various HDR offices by providing complete project financial management in compliance with the Federal Government and Company policiesSet up and maintain accurate project and budget data within the accounting system, set up and maintain fully executed and accurate Federally compliant auditable filesAssist Project Managers with meeting their monthly billing deadlines, managing WIP to a minimumAssist Project Managers with their project forecasts by reviewing project work plans and updating plans as necessary (EAC, etc.)Prepare timely and accurate client invoices that are compliant with contract terms and client-specific needsReview project financial reports as necessary for cost accuracy and reasonablenessConduct weekly review and monitoring of cash receipt postingsInitiate subconsultant payment releases in accordance with contract terms and company deadlinesParticipate in project reviews as requestedProvide Project Managers with monthly financial analyses of their projectsEnsure that Corporate and Federal policies, procedures, and best practices are adhered to throughout the project accounting processServe as a mentor to junior accounting personnel - provide training, guidance and supervise the team as neededPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications Degree in Finance, Business Administration or a related fieldPrevious employment with an engineering firm is highly desirable

Required Qualifications
8 years experience in a cost accounting environment Knowledge and understanding of Federal client billing Knowledge and understanding of direct, indirect, allowable, and unallowable costs associated with the FAR GAAP accounting principals Must have strong analytical skills Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsMust be able to work independently, and take the initiative to resolve project financial issues in a timely mannerMust be able to manage project financial data for multiple projects Must have experience supporting multiple departments within a corporation Skilled user of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage assigned workload, and deliver accurate and timely results An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
