Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst ensures the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly close of multiple entities and ensures all deadlines are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting Prepare internal management financial reports and financial analyses as required on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- Financial Analysis
• Secure approval on capital expenditures, as necessary
• Assist the Director of Finance with preparation of annual business plan and quarterly reviews.
• Assist in preparing annual consolidated business plan and quarterly presentations to Magna Corporate Management with Director of Finance and VP Finance.
• Prepare ad hoc financial presentations for VP Finance.
- Preparing and reviewing top-side journal entries for North America, including all equity-related transactions, capital infusions, and dividends.
- Perform monthly closing checks for NA divisions. This includes Fixed Assets, Asset Disposals, Intangible Assets, Other Assets, Deferred Revenue, Pension, RMB, Equity transfers, Sales by customer, VADD, and Intercompany out-of-balance checks.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly deliverables to Magna Corporate, including Fixed Asset, Intangibles, Investments, Long Term Debts, Other Assets, Head Counts, Social Contributions, Judgmentals, Wins and Losses schedules.
- Gathering, analyzing, and consolidating financial information from divisions into a single, consolidated set of financial statements and reporting to Management, including Quarterly and Year End Deliverables for Magna International.
- Load Budget and Forecast files for adjusting entities (mainly North American) to OneStream
- Understanding of foreign currency translation and currency effects.
- Assist in preparing annual audits, internal control, US regulatory reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Some travel may be required

Education/Skills/Special Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. CPA Accounting designation preferred. MBA or other Master’s degree is a plus.
Good working knowledge and familiarity with Solomon (Microsoft Dynamics accounting software) / Acc Pac / SAP / HFM / OneStream preferred. Knowledge of SmartView or Quick View is a plus.
Experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or OneStream preferred.
Experience in technical accounting and strong understanding of US GAAP accounting, audit, and consolidation procedures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring that deadlines are met, effective organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Strong degree of initiative and judgment. Automotive experience preferred. Comfortable working individually, or with a team, in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
Experience – At least 5 years of public or corporate accounting experience is strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.
Physical Demands/Work Environment – Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Minimal travel.
