**Carrier's Indianapolis facility** specializes in manufacturing residential gas furnaces. Established in 1967, this plant has grown to become one of the largest gas furnace manufacturing sites globally, encompassing nearly 550,000 square feet and employing over 1,500 workers. It boasts the capacity to produce up to 5,000 furnaces daily, serving a vast network of more than 92,000 dealers and over 200 distributors across the United States.
Beyond manufacturing, Carrier has invested in workforce development through its Technical Training Center located on the west side of Indianapolis. This 6,000-square-foot facility offers hands-on training to HVAC technicians, addressing the industry's growing demand for skilled professionals.
**About this role**
**Carrier HVAC Residential Operations/Human Resources** is seeking a high energy, self-starter to drive labor relations initiatives and promote a high performance, engaged culture. The **Senior Labor Relations Representative** will report directly to the Associate Director, Human Resources.
This is an **onsite position** at the **Indianapolis** location. Working hours from **1 pm ET to 10 pm ET** (with a shift premium) Mondays to Fridays.

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Administer and interpret company policies and the collective bargaining agreement in relation to employee questions, complaints or suggestions
+ Assist with second step grievance hearings and appropriate follow up actions
+ Conduct timely investigations, prepare documentation and make appropriate recommendations
+ Implement strategies and programs in partnership with the operations team to increase hourly employee engagement
+ Deliver timely, high quality and impactful hourly employee communication
+ Utilize critical thinking skills when assessing issues; focus on creative and fiscally responsible solutions to manage employment cost
+ Champion Carrier Excellence initiatives for the onsite HR group; contribute as an active member of the cell
+ Proactively identify labor relations issues and themes based on key labor metrics; recommend effective solutions
+ Support internal workforce movement processes and executions
+ Provide coaching/training to front line supervisors regarding employee matters, contract interpretation, procedures and activities
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 2 plus years’ hands on experience in the Human Resources and/or labor relations
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business management, psychology or an applicable field from an accredited university
+ Master’s degree in business or human resources
+ Human Resources experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting
+ Form successful partnerships with labor leadership
+ Work in a fast-paced and self-directed environment
+ Manage ambiguity in investigating employee and labor relation situations
+ Knowledge of employment/labor law
+ Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills
+ Technical skills and able to utilize MS Office software application i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel
+ Influence and work effectively across all levels of the organization
+ Manage sensitive and confidential materials and possess business judgment
+ Fast learner, able to readily apply knowledge gained in one situation to others
+ Organized with attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities
+ Effective communication with professionalism, clarity, and accuracy across all levels of the organization
+ English written and spoken skills
+ Experience in a customer service environment, i.e., handle difficult and sensitive manners; maintain a high degree of confidentiality
+ Deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations
+ Work on tasks with limited written procedures and protocols; investigate past practices and determine the best course of action
