Under the leadership of the Director, Corporate Payroll Operations, the Senior Payroll Manager will lead, direct, and coordinate all the activities of a team responsible for timekeeping, paid time off accruals and the preparation, processing, and distribution of accurate and timely paychecks to bi-weekly non-union employees in multiple divisions, multiple legal entities and in multiple states.
The Senior Payroll Manager will drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement in while ensuring compliance with SOX controls, company policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of two days working onsite in the NYC office.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, direct, and coordinate all activities of a Payroll Shared Services team responsible for non-union payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing and all payroll processes are administered in compliance with SOX requirements, internal company policies, federal, state, and local regulationsLead with a one-team approach in dealing with internal and external stakeholder queries via seamless cross-functional and cross-divisional collaboration, consistent with FOX Corporation’s “One Fox” philosophyEffectively manage the delivery of excellent customer service; anticipate issues, and proactively develop solutionsCreate and use metrics to benchmark performance and improve service deliveryTake charge of escalations, directing the payroll team and guiding other departments in corrective actionsImplement workable and scalable solutions to business issues/problems, and impart lessons learned afterwards to prevent future issuesWork with business partners to establish and adhere to payroll schedules to ensure data required for payroll processing is received timely to ensure all key processing deadlines will be metReview, audit, and approve all stock incentive compensation transactions, properly accounting for all payroll taxes, before and after payroll processingDefine and drive key requirements, projects, and initiatives with a high degree of quality and customer servicePlan, develop, and implement forward-looking payroll processes/procedures and revise current processes/procedures to continuously seek improvement, improve accuracy, create optimal efficiency, and provide best-in-class customer service to our employeesCollaborate proactively and effectively with Payroll Shared Services leadership on strategic initiatives and projectsDevelop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and flowcharts for all payroll processes to ensure a complete, accurate, and up-to-date depiction of processesEstablish and maintain excellent cross-collaborative working relationships with cross-divisional stakeholders and cross-functional partners including HR, IT, and LegalProvide support from initiation to completion for Workday issues and change requests submitted by Payroll, including participation and/or support of user acceptance testingProactively function as a trusted adviser and serve as a contact from Payroll for business partners and stakeholdersCoach, mentor and provide leadership development to team members to drive employee engagement and to optimize operational and service excellence to create a deeper bench of experienced talent.Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and tax regulations, including taxation of fringe benefits, by studying existing and new legislationEnsure compliance and advise management on needed actionsOccasional travel may be required between the two head office locations (New York City and Los Angeles)WHAT YOU WILL NEED
6+ years of relevant work experience leading Payroll and related processes of a large volume of employees (including a remote workforce) in a complex and rapidly changing multi-state, multi-entity organizationDemonstrated ability to lead a team to excellence and develop talent through ongoing mentorshipAdept in ambiguous situations, adaptable to changing priorities while effectively managing multiple commitments, at times on tight deadlinesStrong working knowledge of taxation of fringe benefits and long-term equity incentive instruments (RSUs, NQ Stock Options)Expert knowledge of FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour, and tax regulationsAptitude for streamlining and simplifying teams, policies, and processes for efficiency, with an appropriate balance of internal controlsIntermediate to advanced Excel (V-Lookup and Pivot Tables)Strategic mindset coupled with the ability and willingness to roll up sleeves where necessary, and a desire to constantly improve the status quoDemonstrated ability in building and managing highly collaborative and effective teams supporting multiple companies/business units, with a commitment to a culture of collaboration, performance, transparency, and integrityOutstanding people skills with proven experience in cultivating cross-collaborative working relationships across an organization and the ability to influence at all levelsAbility to communicate with precision, ensuring a clear conveyance of project status, identified problems, proposed resolutions, and recommended courses of actionNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $128,000.00-145,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
