Senior Manager - AWS Cloud & DevOps

We are hiring a Senior Manager Cloud & DevOps to join our team and lead our DevOps team in India. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance, driving the evolution of DevOps and engineering practices to deliver exceptional results. As a Senior Manager Cloud & DevOps, you will lead a high-performing DevOps team of Engineers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. You will set the strategic direction for DevOps and engineering practices for the team and play a pivotal role in driving the implementation of automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services while fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to managing DevOps strategies, enabling developers to deliver high-quality software faster and more efficiently. An in-depth knowledge of IT, emerging technologies, and DevOps principles is essential, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence across all levels of the organisation. Someone who can review code, do 1-2-1's, performance reviews and be involved in the high level Architecture. You will also need to manage key stakeholders. You'll also be required to have extensive technical ability in parallel with your team. You'll be someone who is passionate about modern technology and DevOps principles. This person will lead a team of DevOps/Site Reliability Engineers. Under your guidance the team will design and deliver infrastructure projects supporting a diverse portfolio of applications and look to use automation to help with the management and updates to the delivery ecosystem.


The role will be performed on a hybrid working basis from our Bangalore office.



About the role:

Computer science, software engineering, or relevant technical background required.10 + years of professional experience in DevOps and infrastructure management.Proven experience in a leadership role; whether from a DevOps or infrastructure background. Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises infrastructure.Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Strong leadership and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Ability to anticipate potential infrastructure challenges and provide innovative solutions.Interest in new technologies and continuous improvement methodologies.


About you:

Deliver and operate a “push the button to refresh” ecosystem that keeps application versions, interfaces and data structures working throughout and after updates occur within the portfolio.Partner with development team leaders and developers to support pre-deployment workspaces and to refresh code updates into production.Develop and implement IT projects and infrastructures for cloud and on-premise systemsOversee continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and DevOps architecture.Implement automation and orchestration of tools and processes to minimize delivery time and increase efficiency.Manage a team of engineers fostering a collaborative work environment, system consistency, stability, and efficiency.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.Ensure critical resolution of system issues by using the best cloud security solutions to protect internal information.Conduct technical reviews and audits.Maintain communication with relevant departments to ensure software development projects are aligned with company goals.Implement industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management.The team you'll be leading are responsible for supporting key systems delivering news to Reuters customers and subscribers. building a next generation platform.
