Senior Mechanical Piping Designer
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Indicative assignment length: 3-month Contract (possibility of extension)

The role

A well-regarded multidiscipline engineering and project delivery firm is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join their Brisbane team. The company has a strong footprint in the mining, minerals, and metals sector, delivering practical, high-value solutions for complex processing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed models and technical drawings in line with industry standards and internal procedures Lead and facilitate design reviews across multi-discipline teams Develop practical layout solutions with a strong focus on efficiency and constructability Monitor design progress and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets Collaborate daily with engineers, project managers, clients, and designers Provide guidance and leadership to junior team members Maintain a high standard of safety in both design and day-to-day practice What you'll need to succeed Experience in piping/mechanical design for mining, mineral, or metals projects Certificate III or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting (advantageous) Proficiency in MicroStation design software (highly regarded) Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
What’s on Offer: Competitive hourly rate (negotiable based on experience) This is a 3-month contract role, with a view to extension.
