Senior Network Security Engineer

Location: Perth & Onshore/Offshore (Western Australia)

Reporting to the Network Operations Lead, this position sits is within the Australian Network team where you will provide expert network and security engineering assurance to support our corporate and operational environments. The role will provide oversight of our base business requirement to maintain a healthy, optimised and adaptive Network environment to ultimately ensure the safe, reliable and available operation of our network systems and services.

Essential Skills & Experience:

Strong proven technical understanding in Network Security Architecture and System Integrations - Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security + Voice.

Experience with O&G safety critical systems - IT, OT and Telecoms

Previous experience in similar roles within the oil and gas, mining or resources service industry.

Must be willing and able to travel to international, offshore and remote facilities, as required. 

Team Player and ability to collaborate in a large multi-disciplined operational support and project delivery teams.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to self-manage when dealing with large teams and multiple work scopes.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

 this is a Site / Asset based role, or will reasonably require more than 5 days in a row to be spent at an asset / site, candidates are expected to demonstrate the below in order to be considered:

Have completed and hold a valid Industry Safety Induction (Safer Together), or

Be able to demonstrate 12 months O&G experience within the last 2 years, in order to be granted an 'experienced worker' exemption

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide technical direction, advice and support to stakeholders on matters relating to the successful management, operation and future of the network portfolio.

Analysing and understanding business and customer requirements to frameup and produce a detailed technical project delivery plan - including HLD, LLD, Resource and Hardware Estimates, Schedule and Execution and Change plan.

Conduct project management activities including opportunity scoping, planning and design in preparation for the external construction and delivery of projects.

Liaising with internal and external project stakeholders to ensure quality and control of scope, budget and schedule and all relevant project governance requirements (incl. Risk, Compliance, Management of Change, Handover to Operation Support etc)

Ensure project status and performance is managed and reported on a regular basis to both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsible for and where required too, be part of the "hands on" project delivery team for onsite/offshore network installations.

Work closely with our IT-operation support teams to resolve escalated business critical network faults.

Involvement in project/incident after action review's to drive continuous improvements.

Provide governance and assurance across the Network portfolio to ensure service line health.

Support and Manage Digitals Managed IT Service Provider to ensure ongoing quality of delivery, maintenance and support

Working with the Network Architect provide input into Network Security Architecture, Strategy, Roadmaps and Blueprints.

Provide mentoring, knowledge sharing and involvement in building network security capability of team members.
