Consults individually with clients regarding nutritional concerns. Develops nutrition plans based on physical results, current health status, future goals, and other issues. Corresponds with other health care professionals regarding nutrition care plan as necessary.Acts as a dedicated and respected resource to employees, clients, and patients for nutrition-related inquiries using therapeutic communication, which includes active listening and teaching, to promote a positive culture of health.Serves as a mentor for dietitians and other healthcare professionals. Acts as a preceptor for dietetic interns who are a part of an accredited dietetic internship program. Preceptor responsibilities to include mentoring and training interns to utilize the nutrition care process appropriately, hands on training for nutrition assessments, cosigning nutrition care notes in the EMR, and evaluation of an intern's performance based on competencies.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assesses the nutritional status of employees, clients and patients utilizing evidence-based knowledge consistent with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Performs a variety of health assessments and screenings, including metabolic, body composition, biometric screening, and fitness testing, as appropriate per qualifications.Prepares information for and leads discussions on nutrition, wellness, and/or fitness topics in a variety of settings (individual, group, virtual, health fairs), designed to promote healthy lifestyles and maximize program engagement.Actively collaborates with the interprofessional health care team to develop wellness programs and patient education focused on nutrition, health and fitness, to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance the patient experience.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides care to patients in coordination with the interprofessional team. Utilizes sound professional judgment and an evidence-based analytical approach to ensure patient needs are met, supported by accurate documentation in the EMR.Assesses effectiveness of wellness programs and provides recommendations for program and process improvements, updating relevant guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of care using evidence-based practices to educate clients and colleagues.Self-initiates cross-coverage of primary duties to ensure the quality of patient care is maintained and department's operations are sustained.

Uses resources efficiently to maximize utilization of time and equipment. Meets labor productivity standards by effectively managing established client load assignments and prioritizing tasks.
