Position Summary

The Service Line Director of Strategy & Operations – Women’s Services is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic growth, operational performance, and business development of the Women’s Service Line across the region. This includes oversight of services such as obstetrics, gynecology, maternal-fetal medicine, and neonatal intensive care (NICU).

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations for SAMG and working in partnership with a dyad medical director, the Director will lead the development and execution of strategic plans, coordinate initiatives across multiple sites, and ensure alignment with the mission and goals of Saint Alphonsus Health System and Trinity Health.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategic planning and business development of Women’s Services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Collaborate with senior leaders, SAMG, independent physician partners, and operational teams to align clinical and business strategies.

Oversee day-to-day operations, financial performance, and service development for OB/GYN and maternal-fetal medicine clinics.

Supervise practice managers and support performance improvement initiatives across the service line.

Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improved patient access.

Participate in and co-lead the Service Line Regional Strategy Council to monitor performance and guide long-term planning.

Partner with marketing and outreach teams to support physician alignment and community engagement.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards while promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health or related business field required.  Master's degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience with preferred 7-10 years of progressive experience in developing, overseeing or interacting with physician groups, product lines, managed care and/or business development activities, in a large, complex, medical center.

Significant working knowledge or practical experience in all clinical areas of obstetrics, gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, and neonatology intensive care.

Managerial responsibility for the day-to-day operations of obstetrics and gynecology clinics and maternal fetal medicine clinics.

Significant successful experience in analyzing competitive health care environment and developing and implementing strategic recommendations for improved market share in a dynamic and rapidly changing industry.

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills and an ability to influence, collaborate with and motivate others.

Successful experience interacting with Board Committees and/or Directors, administrators, physicians and colleagues.

Strong financial management, project management and business skills.

Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, ethical, managerial, organizational requirements, principles and standards of care for service line hospitals and clinics.

Progressive academic training and experiences, with the ability to work with various stakeholders across the region to advance the strategy and business plan.

Ability to work in a matrix relationship across the health system.

Current, unrestricted driver's license and ability to travel between sites required.
