Shipping Lead
MISSION / SUMMARY:
Accountable for the output, productivity and efficiency of the department. Responsible for the
implementation of quality assurance for the department - including procedures, standards, training, and
quality control measures. Responsible for the equipment maintenance to manufacturers standards.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain delivery dates in order to plan department operations.· Plans shipping and receiving requirements.
Schedules deliveries to meet customer expectations. Works closely with Service department to stay abreast of customer demands. Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Plant Manager for action. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Determine and set productivity expectations and quality goals and parameters. Manage inventory of raw materials, work-in-process and finished products to ensure they are maintained at optimal levels. Develop and carry out training for all employees in the department. Develop and implement safety and housekeeping procedures and systems. Directs the work of others in Shipping Department Other duties as assigned
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:
Two year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Shipping and Receiving experience, along with a proven track record of accomplishment in working in an environment servicing internal and external customers
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and within a team environment.
· Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
SKILLS:
Self-Driven and be able to learn and adapt to the changes the plant and team requires. Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to execute all functions with accuracy. Work effectively within a team. Complete all data entry/reporting with 100% accuracy to prevent incorrect production and loss to the company and customer.
SCHEDULE DEMANDS:
· General schedule is an M-F assignment. Employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 8+-hours.
· Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
· Wear PPE when required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection etc.
· Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
· Use of various office equipment.
