**Description** **Leidos currently has an opening for a Software Developer to work in San Antonio, TX supporting HR applications for the Government. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will develop technical solutions and work with customers to determine business needs, focusing on our Java-based applications and their deployment. You will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, documenting specifications, and working closely with development teams to ensure successful project delivery. A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, coupled with experience in Docker, IntelliJ, AWS, and DevSecOps practices, is highly desirable.** **Primary Responsibilities:** + **Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance** + **Design, develop, and maintain high-quality code for Java-based applications, ensuring scalability and performance** + **Collaborate with cross-functional development teams using Docker for containerization, IntelliJ for development, and AWS for cloud deployment** + **Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate that solutions meet business needs and functional requirements** + **Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for Java applications** + **Develop and maintain detailed functional specifications, process flow diagrams, and data models** + **Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure a clear and shared understanding of project goals and deliverables** + **Evaluate existing business processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimization and increased efficiency** + **Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for Java-based systems and applications** + **Contribute to the development, organization, and upkeep of comprehensive project documentation** + **Actively support DevSecOps practices to promote secure, automated, and reliable software delivery pipelines** . **Basic Qualifications:** + **Requires BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.** + **Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles with hands-on experience in Java development** + **Proven experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements using techniques such as interviews, workshops, surveys, and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions** + **Skilled in documenting detailed business requirements, user stories, and well-defined acceptance criteria** + **Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong written and verbal communication skills** + **Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also contributing effectively in team environments** + **Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently** + **Public Trust Clearance** . **Preferred Qualifications** + **Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).** + **Familiarity with database concepts and SQL.** + **Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and similar project management and collaboration software.** + **Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization.** + **Experience with IntelliJ IDEA or other Java IDEs.** + **Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud deployment concepts.** + **Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.** + **Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA).** **Original Posting:** May 28, 2025 For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above. **Pay Range:** Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
