Our engineers are encouraged to contribute ideas and code to our own platform and to other partner teams. **Our Opportunity:** As a Full-Stack Software Engineer on the Pet Health development team, you will build a robust, resilient, and scalable platform. You will own components of a platform and lead the design and implementation of end-to-end features using both backend and frontend technologies. You will collaborate with product owners to craft architecture based on product requirements, breaking features into small work units and ensuring high-quality production-ready code using modern CI/CD processes. **What You'll Do:** + Design, build, deploy, and scale major platform components, microservices, and front-end features. + Implement and maintain adaptable and dynamic user interfaces using React and JavaScript. + Implement enterprise design and coding standards. + Build a culture of innovation through rapid prototyping and continuous delivery to production. + Actively participate in scrum ceremonies, including grooming, planning, demos, and retrospectives. + Guide and mentor junior engineers to deliver high-quality code through design and code reviews. **What You'll Need:** + 4+ years of programming experience with Java and backend frameworks like Spring Boot. + Proficient in frontend technologies, including JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS. + Validated experience working with modern SQL/NoSQL databases. + Shown understanding of algorithms and data structures. + Confirmed experience supplying to high-performance, scalable systems. + Ability to think independently and break down product requirements into well-defined tasks. + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) or equivalent work experience. **Bonus** + Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS. + Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration. + Experience with Node.js for server-side development. + Experience in developing software for the medical or healthcare industry. + Familiarity with working in distributed teams across time zones. \#LI-SA2 **Chewy is committed to equal opportunity.
