As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities

 

Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersBuild and operate big data infrastructure, including numerous scalable data pipelines, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security.Develop resilient Java-based microservices, AWS Lambda functions, and Apache Spark applications for real-time and batch processing.Perform backtesting and optimize cloud-based distributed computing for high performance and resource efficiency.Manage Gemfire's distributed in-memory caching system for fast, reliable data access.Use Terraform to efficiently build and manage cloud infrastructure.Continuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software developmentDefine and implement best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data modelingProvide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careersAdds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fieldsMinimum 5 years of software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in Java, Python and other programming languages used in Data EngineeringStrong knowledge in SQL, RDMBS and No SQL databases. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightKnowledge of real time message streaming platform like Kafka or AMPS Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Operational stakeholders globally. 

 

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Experience in Apache Spark or similar distributed computing platform that processes large datasets. Experience in Infrastructure as Code tool like Terraform. Experience In-Memory databases like  Gemfire or Oracle Coherence.
