As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other data users within the firm. Job responsibilities

 

Provides overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level data engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksDevelop and maintain data models and architecture for the Payments data platformEstablish and manage contracts with upstream data providersDesign and implement an opionionated canonical model for data consistency and integrityOversee schma validation, evolution and mapping between data layersProvide the instrumenation of the toolchain to generate Python, Java and other artifacts from models stored in the code repositoryManage a team of three direct reports, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environmentCollaborate with cross-funtional teams to ensure alignment with businss goals and objectivesStay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise  Proven experience in data architecture and data engineering, preferably in the financial services industryStrong expertise in data modeling, schema design, and data integrationProficient in SQLExperience with data contract management and working with upstream data providersStrong understanding of canonical models and data mapping techniquesExperience with schema validation and evolutionProficient in Python and Java for toolchain instrumentationExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudFamiliarity with data governance and data quality frameworksKnowledge of big data technologies and distributed systemsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesCertification in data architecture or related field
