Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This role focuses on managing and reporting on investment portfolios while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing accurate financial insights to support strategic decisions and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Record, reconcile, and maintain accurate documentation of investment portfolio transactions, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
• Prepare detailed financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis related to investment activities.
• Monitor and analyze investment performance, creating comprehensive reports tailored to leadership and board requirements.
• Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant financial standards.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory policies and manage tax implications for investment assets.
• Collaborate with internal finance and investment teams to forecast returns and develop actionable insights.
• Coordinate with external auditors, custodians, and tax advisors to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Provide recommendations to enhance efficiency in investment reporting and accounting processes.
• Contribute to financial planning discussions and prepare detailed reports for leadership and board presentations. Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.
• Strong expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with investment portfolio management and alternative investment vehicles.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex financial data.
