Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Reston, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee financial records, analyze complex reports, and ensure the accuracy of all accounting tasks. This position offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in financial management and electronic ledger systems to maintain and authenticate financial transactions effectively. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial records. • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all entries are prepared and maintained accurately. • Record and review journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling. • Lead month-end close processes, including account reconciliations and adjustments. • Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies while managing financial transactions. • Collaborate with team members to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting workflows. Requirements • Proven experience in bank reconciliations and financial record management. • Strong knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entry preparation. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis. • Expertise in month-end close procedures and balance sheet account reconciliations. • Familiarity with electronic ledger systems and financial software tools. • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in accounting tasks.
