Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Bedford, Massachusetts, on a long-term contract basis. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a collaborative environment while contributing to key financial processes. If you have a background in life sciences or public company accounting, your skills will be highly valued. Responsibilities: • Perform monthly financial closings, ensuring accuracy in accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations. • Prepare and review journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. • Conduct detailed account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations to support financial reporting. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business partnerships. • Maintain compliance with internal controls, including adherence to SOX 404 requirements. • Utilize accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP for efficient financial management. • Apply advanced Microsoft Excel skills to organize, analyze, and report financial data. • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes. • Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the life sciences or public company sectors. • Proficiency in financial systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Strong expertise in account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting requirements. • Knowledge of SOX 404 compliance and internal controls. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
