Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the organization's overall financial health. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal industry environment while utilizing your expertise in accounting systems and practices. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner. • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring alignment between bank statements and internal records. • Oversee the general ledger by maintaining accurate entries and supporting documentation. • Create and post journal entries to facilitate month-end and year-end close processes. • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze financial data and generate reports. • Manage month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate. • Work with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to streamline financial operations and reporting. • Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with regulations. • Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries. Salary: $75k - $80k Benefits: MED HSA, VISION, DEN, 401k Requirements • Proven experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis. • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and meet strict deadlines. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in financial reporting. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
