Sr. Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, collaborating with various teams, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization in the investment management industry. Responsibilities: • Oversee the quarterly financial close process, working closely with senior accountants and third-party fund administrators to ensure timely and accurate reporting. • Prepare detailed schedules, calculations, and supporting documentation for financial statements and disclosures. • Conduct technical accounting research, analysis, and write-ups to support appropriate accounting treatments. • Create and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Evaluate new regulatory requirements and their impact on financial reporting and disclosures. • Collaborate with the investment team during the quarterly valuation process to ensure accurate reporting of investment valuations. • Partner with external auditors and fund administrators to facilitate timely completion of filings, including Form 468 and 1031. • Review and analyze quarterly reporting packages and workpapers to maintain high-quality financial reporting. • Assist in preparing management reports, including board presentations, meeting minutes, and investment performance summaries. • Perform weekly cash flow analysis and manage the cash application process with external custodians. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. • At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP. • A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for taking on new responsibilities and growing within the organization.
