Sr. Billing and Collections Specialist

Position Overview

Performs all aspects of Collection operations to ensure timely and accurate filing of government and third party medical claims, ensures maximum reimbursement collection efforts and complies with corporate, FDA, and HIPAA regulations and procedures. The Sr. Billing and Collections Specialist will report to the Credit, Billing and Collection Sr Manager.

Responsibilities

The following represents the primary responsibilities of the position. Other duties may be assigned as needed

Supervising and coordinating activities of the Billing Customer Service and Collections departmentAddress claims correspondence, denials and questions from third partiesAssist in preparation of reports and analyses, setting forth progress, trends and appropriate recommendations and conclusions.Work as part of the support team, including but not limited to members of the Managed Care team, the Customer Care teams, and the Billing team to ensure proactive communication regarding insurance changes/issues.Identify process improvements and recourse needs to ensure projects are completed according to business specifications.Reviews documentation in medical records in order to verify accuracy of charge information and to assist in preparing responses to requests of third party payers.Team development through training and mentoring of peers

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Administration, or any Business related. MBA a plus.Accounting experience.+5 years in similar rolesExperience on medical billing a plus.Must have strong attention to detailTeam leader with an understanding of medical terminology a plus.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)SAP experience a plus.
 

Additional Information

The position is hybrid work at our Guadalajara Office.Minimal travel required
