Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer III/Senior Engineer within Product Development to lead design and development activities for complete medical device development programs. This role involves concept generation, requirements generation, prototyping, 3D modeling, and 2D prints creation. You will have the opportunity to mentor engineers and collaborate closely with customers and internal teams.
ResponsibilitiesCreate technical execution plans and deliverables with the project team and execute design and development project-related activities within the internal team.Lead customer interaction on technical deliverables and engage in activities for concept generation with strong technical problem-solving skills.Mentor engineers on the team to conduct engineering analysis on designs, concepts, and associated research.Lead and monitor documentation practices for requirements, design output, design verification, and testing using Heraeus and/or customer’s QMS.Communicate complex information concisely and clearly to all levels of collaborators, including customers, team members, and others.Facilitate and make technical decisions on projects, including vendor selection, critical to quality on the design, and concept selection.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required; master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field helpful.Minimum of 5 years (Engineer III) or 8 years (Senior Engineer) of relevant work experience required.Experience in medical device development, including catheter development, is required.Established knowledge of multiple engineering functional areas such as product development, testing, modeling, and processes.Ability to independently apply knowledge of the methodology for process/design selection.Proficient in communicating complex technical concepts to broad audiences.Demonstrated creativity in applying engineering principles to solve complex problems.Ability to make data-driven decisions utilizing statistical tools such as DOE, tolerance stack-up analysis, or Minitab.Strong independent problem-solving skills with the ability to coach others in this area.Proficient with new technology development.Additional Skills & QualificationsAnatomical knowledge of the vasculature and clinical knowledge of coronary, peripheral, or neurological procedures is helpful.Experience in coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers, either formally or informally.Established cross-functional relationships with the ability to influence and drive results.Work Environment
This role is primarily onsite in Fridley, with occasional visits to White Bear Lake. The position offers the potential to transition to a full-time role if the right fit is found.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
