Sr. Maintenance Specialist/Controls Technician  |Corsicana, TX | HIRING IMMEDIATELY

 

 

Available Shifts: Mon-Fri 7a-3:30p

 

 

Comprehensive Compensation Package:

 

Pay Rate: $40-$50 per hour - Depending On Experience

Responsibilities

The Controls Technician will execute maintenance tasks, which require an in-depth technical knowledge of equipment. The technician will install, setup, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery, analyze failures or equipment technical loss causes, and make or suggest improvements as needed. Incumbent works closely with the Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, Unit Manager, production associates and other maintenance team members to provide technical support to meet production goals, ensure a safe work environment and meet customer specifications.

 Safety

Maintain awareness of all safety policies and procedures for the job.Remain aware of surroundings and ensure knowledge of all required PPE for the job.Keep work area clean and organized.Report any safety concerns, risks, hazards, near misses, or injuries immediately to supervision.

 

 

Productivity

Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility's mechanical equipment.Detects and diagnoses mechanical failures, including pneumatic and hydraulic malfunctions of equipment, and repairs as necessary.Utilizes precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools and testing instruments mechanical equipment installation and alignment.Reads mechanical prints and technical data during the installation and repair of equipment.Maintains housekeeping in areas of assigned responsibility to ensure a safe and clean work environment.Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned, including but not limited to equipment tooling and changeovers. Diagnoses electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical issues associated with all equipment in a manufacturing environment.Reads electrical schematics and interprets specifications.Troubleshoots high-voltage systems up to 480 volt 3-phase, 600 volts DC, and low-voltage control circuits.Tests equipment operation including digital multi-meters and amp meters.Analyzes and repairs electro-mechanical equipment, fixtures, and process control equipment including processors, sensors, drives, instrumentations, etc.Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications HS diploma or equivalency; 3-5 years related experience.Strong knowledge of electrical theory including basic ohms-law application.Mechanical skills to include experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Ability to utilize hand tools for repair of electrical and mechanical systems.Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts.Good written and verbal communication skills, decision making ability and mathematical knowledge.Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.Experience in a thermoforming and extrusion environment preferred.Thorough knowledge of mechanical devices and apparatus.Ability to utilize hand tools for repair of mechanical systems.Flexibility to work overtime and off shifts as neededMust be able to stand for 8-12 hours due to the nature of the workMust be able to wear the required PPE to enter the plant/complete the tasks We expect regular and timely attendance to avoid disruption to the team and the line. Corsicana is a city in Navarro County, Texas, United States. It is located on Interstate 45, some 58 mi south of downtown Dallas. The population was 23,770 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Navarro County. 

 

The Corsicana Manufacturing Plant is the proud recipient of the 2019 Environmental Impact award! The plant was built in 1987 and manufactures cups, lids, to-go containers and breakfast trays used in households and restaurants all over the US.
