Sr. Tunable Engineer, Chassis

As a Senior Engineer for Suspension Tunables in Chassis Mechanical, you will design of components that control vehicle roll, pitch, and heave and the movement of the unsprung suspension mass. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to take premier suspension tunables from concept to production.

Role

Design and develop components, such as springs and dampers, from initial concept to production Establish component requirements based on desired vehicle attributes Assist the vehicle dynamics team with tuning your parts to achieve desired vehicle attributes Complete component DFMEAs and DVPs, and contribute to system failure mode analyses Design with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail Work closely with both internal teams and externals suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment Contribute to the suspension technology roadmap for future vehicles


Qualifications

5+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on suspension or chassis mechanical design Candidates with 2+ years of experience may be considered at the Engineer level Personally designed components from concept to production Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection Proven 3D CAD skills, project leadership, and mentoring skills Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% if needed

Advantageous

Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principles Ability to run and teach others to use structural analysis tools Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theory

Education
