Who You'll Work With:
The Corporate Accounting team is in search of an AO-Staff Accountant to join the U.S. Controllers team. The candidate will report to a Corporate Accounting manager and will be involved in the monthly close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, analysis and reporting. Additionally, this role will support the Broker Dealer regulatory reporting requirements. This role will work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis, IT, Treasury, and other business units and international counterparts. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment while still ensuring accuracy and accountability. This role will play an integral part in maintaining existing standards, while also assisting in the development of a more efficient and streamlined group and process.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and review monthly journal entries
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and analytics
Prepare and review P&L variance analysis and provide management with analytics
Provide disclosure support for financial reporting
Monitor the firms’ compliance with testing and SOX control documentation requirements
Support the 15c3-3 daily calculation for regulatory reporting requirements for the Broker Dealer
Assist with special projects as require
Provide recommendations for improvement in existing processes
What We're Looking For:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting2-3 Years of experience in general accounting. Regulatory reporting experience a plus.Ability to multitask, execute and follow-through to completion
Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by nature
Proficient in MS Office w/ advanced Excel and Access (relational databases) knowledge
Ability to synthesize and distill large amounts of data
Ability to generate & implement new ideas
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
Strong client focus with the ability to respond timely
Can work independently
Excel super user
Access super user (relational database experience)
SmartStream G/L, Workday, or similar ledger package
Cognos Reporting or similar tools
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
CPA preferred
Accrual accounting, Intercompany accounting or consolidation accounting
