Staff Accountant
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Findlay, Ohio. This role involves managing key aspects of the accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities: • Manage assigned areas of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Assist with month-end closing activities by planning, monitoring, and executing financial reporting processes. • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly treasury and cash management activities to maintain financial stability. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department and develop actionable plans to implement changes. • Contribute to the preparation of the annual operating budget by providing necessary schedules and statistical reports. • Prepare and assist in the timely submission of Forms 990, internal and external financial reports, and internal control documentation. • Support year-end audit processes by preparing and analyzing work papers and assisting in the preparation of audited financial statements. • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, monitor banking activities, and manage online banking access and user approvals. • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts to ensure financial accuracy. • Stay up-to-date with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and apply them to all financial activities. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial environment, with healthcare experience preferred. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong computer skills. • Solid understanding of auditing and accounting principles, practices, laws, and regulations. • Experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close processes. • Familiarity with PeopleSoft ERP or similar accounting software. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-oriented mindset. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
